New release blog hop with Erica

Good Morning Crafty Friends and Welcome to Kennedy Grace Creations September Blog Hop!
We are so happy you have stopped by and joined us for this very special event!

Our newest release of Stamp and Sequins is now live and available for purchase in the store!

Here is what I have created for you

I have had my Faber-Castell Polochromos pencils for quite a while now, I do believe they were part of my wedding anniversary present last year.. in July... so yeah, they have been around for a while but I've felt too intimidated to try them out. Nuts or what?? Well, for today's card I decided to be brave and just get on with it. And wow. Now I can't believe I waited to long to try them! I decided to use black card stock and gold glitter heat embossing for my card and the colours practically glow!! It's so cool!

Right, I'm skipping ahead a little bit here, let's go back to the beginning. I have used the Kindness Medley stamp set which I stamped with VersaMark on smooth black card stock and heat embossed it with Ranger Inks Gold Tinsel which is nice and sparkly. Then I jumped in the deep end with my pencils and started colouring. As the card stock is black I started with white pencil all over the petals to make sure the other colours popped. I went for teal blue colours, which I thought was a nice contrast to the gold and black. Plus I love blue. In pretty much every shade. I coloured all the petals and the leaves, and this took me quite a while but boy was it worth it. I love this look!

As I didn't want to take away too much focus from the flowers themselves, I decided to keep the sentiment super-simple and just stamp 'Kindness' and heat emboss that in smooth gold embossing powder on a small banner. This along with a sparky gold stitched rectangle die to frame the card, was all I added. I thought that was very restrained of me, I'm usually an 'let's add all the sequins and layers and a bit of this and that' kind of gal.

Well, with that, I'm all done!

We will be giving away a prize package to one lucky winner.

All you have to do is join us for hop and leave a comment on each project. The more you comment the more chances you have to win!! Winner will be announced on Monday.

We hope you have enjoyed this release and will hop along to see what our talented designers have made using the Stamps and Sequins from our September release.

  7. Erica, I had to chuckle when I read your post. I got a set of Prismacolors last Christmas and just can't bear to use them. Part of it is they are just so pretty, right, all perfect and gorgeous (a bit intimidating too, I agree). Your card is gorgeous and if you were intimidated, you certainly shouldn't be now!

Spreading Kindess card

Hello everyone, Erica on the blog today!

I don't know about you but I've been quite saddened to see so much hatred, friends attacking friends and general unkindness going around lately. Regardless of your political/religious/personal beliefs I think we can all do better with keeping it a bit civilised and perhaps doing less talking and more actions. With that in mind I made this card with a positive message to send out some positive karma into the world.

Using an A2 panel cut out from Ranger Ink water colour paper, I dusted it generously with my anti-static tool as I was going to heat emboss the gorgeous Just A Rose stamp set. I started by stamping it in the middle with VersaMark ink and dusting it with white embossing powder, also from Ranger Ink. Using a mask I already had, I stamped it again on both sides to create a rose bush border, before adding and setting the embossing powder with my heat tool.

Happy Owl-idays!

Hello, everyone! Rachel here with you today!

I'm loving the cute little critters that are going to be coming up in a new release and I think you're going to love them, too. I have a clean and simple creation using a new owl image for you today.

I started my card by masking off a small strip on the right hand side of the card and then blending purple and pink inks into the strip to create an ombre effect. After it had dried, I used a stencil and some texture paste to create my falling snow. I carefully removed my masking paper and then let the texture paste dry.

While I waited, I colored my little owl image and used my Brother Scan N Cut 2 to cut him out. (Have I mentioned lately how much I hate fussy cutting?) When I was sure the card was dry, I used my MISTI to line up my sentiment and stamped it in a bold, black ink. I used some foam tape to adhere my little own beside my sentiment and my card was done!

Thanks for joining me today!
