A gift for my beautiful daughter Danielle

I have been watching a lot of YouTube lately of very talented ladies making altered boxes.  I thought to myself, shoot I can do that!  Low and behold, that is what I did.  My daughter, Danielle, has a thing for birds and butterflies.  I thought, what a neat idea, surprise her with one of these altered keepsake boxes.  I went off to Michaels and picked up a couple they were only $4.99, so why not.

I had recently purchased the Graphic 45 Botanical Tea, it has absolutely stunning papers and would be beautiful on this box for her. I started off by painting the wooden box with Americana Enamel paint in Light Buttermilk, then taking one of the papers from the Botanical tea collection, I used the blue stripe for all for of the sides, distressing them and inking them with Tim Holtz Distress ink in Vintage Photo.  On the top, I used a piece of chocolate brown cardstock layering the blue bird paper from the collection, distressing all the edges and tearing the top corner so I could add a piece of the brown paper and a paper doily, inking them as well.  I used some crystal swirls I just had in my stash on the top corner on both sides of the flower sprays I created. For the flower sprays, I used all I am Roses that I sprayed with Lindy Stamp Gang Sprays in Nantucket Pearls (I have to say it is my favorite color pallet right now).  I punched several butterflies out with my Martha Stewart Butterfly punch, putting an ice blue gem in the center of each butterfly.

Inside the box, I did the same with other papers from the collection, adding more flowers from I am roses sprayed with the Lindy's sprays.  There are a couple of stick pins I just made with beads I already had in my stash.  I added a few embellishments with some of Prima metal bird cage and Graphic 45 staples just as accents.

I hope everyone likes my first attempt at an altered box.  I will be listing this box in my Zibbet's store.  I have plenty of this paper to make more boxes.

One Layered Card - Featuring Kennedy Grace Creations: Time To Blossom

Hey folks! I'm back to share a card from the Kennedy Grace Creations New Release! The stamp set I used today is the Time To Blossom Stamp Set . I really enjoyed the simplicity of this set. You could totally heat emboss this and do some fabulous watercoloring, but Copic's seems to be the way to go for me lately so that's what I did. I started by stamping the image twice on my card panel. The only masking I did was a tiny bit on the stem. The name of the game was to keep this super simple folks. As I said, I colored the images with Copic's. Another thing I enjoy about the Time To Blossom Stamp Set is that you could choose any colors you wanted. I chose red-violets and yellow-greens, but seriously peeps, whatever floats your boat and it will looks great! To finish off my card, I used a added a couple of hand drawn lines to the background and I stamped a portion of a stamp that is also in the Time To Blossom Stamp Set . That's it! Easy peasy. T
